weekend

I had one incredible weekend. It went as follows:

Saturday:
Slept in with the boy, drove across the bay to Fairhope, got a spearmint snow cone with sweet cream :3, shopped around downtown, had lunch @ Panini Pete's, ice cream @ Mr. Gene's Beans, frolicked in a playground, went to see Inception (amazing), ate Thai for dinner, drove home and eventually fell asleep to the sound of C's guitar ♥

Sunday:
woke up oddly early (@ something like 7:30), went to breakfast, ran some errands, went on a 5 mile (incredibly hot & sweaty) bike ride, went shopping @ the mall, came home, had dinner & watched Monster (or what we could on the scratched DVD), went & got a much-deserved Coke Icee, watched some Ghost Writer (yes) and went to bed only to get up and try to get back to work :/

& even through all the sweat, bruises, sun burn and a sore bum (from the bike ride, dirty people!), it was all worth it :]

I feel oddly optimistic about being at work today. I'm not sure why, but it's definitely refreshing! A new American Life, a heavily discounted cappuccino, and a new dress could be contributing factors ;]

cappuccino

I hate it when my cappuccino comes out more like a burnt confused latte. I worked in coffee for 3 years or so, and I know very well that well-made, as-good-as-you-can-get-from-a-coffee-chain cappuccino is not that hard to construct. Unfortunately, for lack of time and the ability to tolerate poorly made coffee drinks, I declined to bring today's cappuccino to my corner Starbucks' attention. le sigh. So my cappuccino today was heavy; more like an extra foam latte than anything else. I could even taste the fact that the barista who made it probably let the espresso shots oxidize. Yea, three shots of espresso in a 16oz. beverage is supposed to taste strong, but not 'burnt.' ...I still drank it, all of it.
